Golfing the Brandywine & Beyond

There are some excellent public courses just a short drive from the Inn... with several less than 20 minutes away including The Golf Course at Glen Mills and Broad Run in West Chester, PA. Three other excellent courses are Wyncote (photo above), a links style course in Oxford, PA about 16 miles from Kennett Square; Pilgrim's Oak, a Dan Hurzdan design that features links style holes and some dramatic elevation changes which is about 45 minutes from Kennett Square; and Frog Hollow in Middletown, DE about a 40 minute drive from the heart of the Valley. Tee times are definitely recommended. Newest area courses are White Clay Creek CC at Delaware Park racetrack & Casino, a resort quality championship layout and Patriot's Glen in Elkton, which has been well received. Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club in Newark, private for decades, is now public and the new, totally redesigned Rock Manor in Wilmington.

Glen Mills, PA

34.4 miles from the Inn 1107 Pilgrims Pathway
Peach Bottom, PA

Pilgrim's Oak is rated 4-Stars by Golf Digest and is one of our favorites even though it is practically in Lancaster, PA. Dan Hurzdan has combined elements of links courses with parkland style courses and thrown in some elevation changes for good measure.
